[ After stalking out the outside of room 3-11, once the coast was clear, Rinoa had sent Angelo over that way to drop off at the door a small dark red gift bag, with white tissue paper sticking out of it. The small tag attached the handle was labeled, 'Squall'.

Inside the bag was a box of playing cards, a small hand written note the same size of the cards slipped into the box, 'Happy Birthday'. There's no other note saying who it's from. ]

[Yeah. He finds those cards, and while unaware of who sent it, there's not many who know his birthday. He could chalk it up to the ship, since he wrote down his birth date on those forms when he first arrived. But it seems unlikely.

It could be Rinoa, but she doesn't know his birthday.

And Seifer? That's a joke.

But the gesture isn't unnoticed at all. If he were any more loose in expressing himself, when he picked up the gift and unwrapped it, he could have smiled. If anything, he amused and somewhat grateful.

He was looking for cards back then, wasn't he?]
