Of course it's her.] What?

[That answer and tone of voice doesn't bother her a bit.] What are you doing?

[What was he doing? It wasn't any of her business, and he's hellbent on letting her know that. Maybe Squall liked a a little privacy once in awhile.]

Minding my own business. [There has to be an objective behind this.] Why?

[She takes a moment to roll her eyes and shake her head. How typical. She translates his answer into - I'm not doing anything, why? - and resumes.] Have you heard of the show that's playing called Swan Song?

[The answer is short and quick, mostly because it's the truth.]

No. [He can almost see where this is going, however. Squall doesn't like it.]

[He might see it coming, but that doesn't stop her from trying to bring this burning train in!] I just heard about it and wanted to check it out. And since you're not doing anything, why don't you come with me?

(I knew it.) [Definitely saw it coming. Enough that the question warrants a groan of dissatisfaction.]

I don't want to.

Oh... come on. You might enjoy it.

Not likely. [Pause. That's not adamant enough.] I don't want to go.

But I can't go by myself. [Pauses for a dramatic effect.] Please?

I don't want to go. [He repeats himself with no cares in the world, voicing himself more sternly.]

[Ugh. What is this NO language you are speaking, Squall. She is unfamiliar with it.] How about you just go anyway as a favor to me?

[Not that she can see it, but Squall is making a face and that annoyed posture of his. Habit.]

I wouldn't go if I didn't want to. And I don't want to.

[She makes a small aggravated sound.] Why are you being so difficult?

[He'll return the sound.]

You're the one trying to push me into doing something I don't want to. If anyone's being difficult, it's you.

I wouldn't be difficult if you would just say yes. I don't get why you're so against it.

[She suddenly has an idea. That she doesn't realize is a dick move, but hey, she's desperate okay.] What about our contract? I could just say it was your job to take me. It couldn't possibly be the worst job you've ever had.

[The mention of the contract makes him tense a bit. Because he read that contract over pretty well.]

This has nothing to do with the liberation of Timber. [You know what he means by that, Rinoa. He means no.]

[He doesn't have to tell her that. She knew very well that the contract didn't have a And you must also take me out clause in it. She's just bluffing, and gets even more irritated when he calls her out on it. Did he really think that going somewhere with her was so terrible?] Fine. I don't need you to go.

[She felt a pang in her chest as her ego suffers a minor blow, and she lashes out like a child.] There's plenty of other guys out there that would jump at the chance to go with me. Just go ahead and have fun being alone, Squall.

[She'll feel bad for that last bit later on, but for now she hangs up on him in the throes of her temper tantrum. Jerk. He is such a JERK.]
